About

Almost 100 years ago, Stuyvesant High School was founded as a New York City specialized high school, offering a rigorous mandated and elective program. From its ranks come some of the most renowned professionals in the country. The tradition of excellence is evident through unprecedented results in assessments, course scholarship, awards and achievements in competitions in all areas.

The Stuyvesant High School Social Studies Department is a byproduct of the school's diverse curriculum, providing one of the most comprehensive programs in the humanities available for high school students. From ancient history to advanced economics, each of our students is guaranteed to receive a strong foundation in the social sciences.
